Rule the Seven Seas › Terms of use

Terms of use.

Plain terms that match how the game is planned to work.

  • Privacy policy
  • Terms of use
  • Data deletion
  • Support

Pre-launch version. Rule the Seven Seas is in development and is not on Google Play yet. This describes how the game and this website are designed to work. I will re-check it against the released game, and update the date, before launch.

Effective 27 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-27

These terms are an agreement between you and the independent developer trading as Tidemark Labs (“I”, “we”), publisher of Rule the Seven Seas. By using the game or this website you agree to them. The privacy policy explains how data is handled.

1. The game and early access

The game is in development. Features, names, plans and prices described on this site can change, and joining the early-access list does not guarantee access to a playtest or the game. I may change, suspend or stop any part of the service.

2. Licence

When the game is released I give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play it for your own entertainment. The game, its art, music, code and the Tidemark Labs and Rule the Seven Seas names belong to me or my licensors. Third-party assets belong to their owners under their own licences.

3. Accounts

A guest account is tied to your device. If you add an email and password you are responsible for keeping them secure. Tell me if you think your account was compromised.

4. Virtual items and purchases

Pieces of Eight and other virtual items are licensed to you for use in the game, have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and may be adjusted for balance or fairness. Purchases will be made through Google Play under its terms, including its refund rules. No purchase is available yet, and reserving a place or answering the questions on this site is not a purchase.

5. Fair play

Do not cheat, exploit bugs for gain, tamper with saves or purchases, reverse engineer the game beyond what the law allows, or attack the servers. I may restrict an account that does.

6. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent the law allows, the game and site are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties, including that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, and I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of progress or virtual items. To the extent the law allows, my total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid in the previous 12 months and US$50. Nothing here limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including consumer rights where you live.

7. Ending

You can stop playing and delete your data at any time. I may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms.

8. Changes and contact

I may update these terms and will post the new date here. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it. Questions: sj@passthebot.dev.
